requiem for my tsinelas...

tsinelas. or in classy-speak (pa-social): flip-flops. but really, it's just the plain ol' rubber slippers.

i'm mourning my birkenstock slippers (of course it's not really THE birkenstock, but the brand name WAS birkenstock, though it looked like one of the islander sandals line). i had these slippers since april/may 2002, so that makes it 8 years old! i usually wore them at home, or the occasional beach forays. they've been everywhere i'd been: cdo, cebu, bantayan, bohol, etc. i had an islander slipper before that, and it only lasted a couple of years. tsk. anywayz, i wore them until the strap was literally hanging by a thread (or mebbe several fine threads), and then finally broke.

i need to replace them and fast. i originally thought of buying a new islander slipper, but then i remember i had several slippers that are barely being used. and now the dilemma. should i use the crocs , or one of the havaianas?? woooh!

since these are expensive slippers (averaging 800-900 php or around 18-20 usd), i only use them when going out to the mall, with friends, or such. heck, they're too expensive to wear to the beach. yeah, they really defeat the purpose of primarily being beach flip-flops.

so, the crocs or the havaianas?
