last monday evening i started classes for basic nihongo with Ross, eJrome and Tessa. no kana & kanji yet, just conversational japanese so we're still using romaji. our sensei is Kato-san, "pure Japanese" as Ross described him...heheso what made us do this "learn Japanese" thingy? me thinks i started the whole ball rolling. i think i mentioned to Ross i wanted to learn Japanese so i can understand my animés without subtitles (what a lofty ideal!). she said she always wanted to learn Japanese and Korean and enhance her Mandarin. besides, to make the idea more "credible", the additional language proficiency will look good on our resumés o_0... and since this is basically a "buddy" system, in due time word spread and eJrome & Tessa (animé buffs, too got caught up in it, too.
earlier that afternoon, i decided to use my 1-hour break to go to the bank and deposit money for my mom.
since i was cost-cutting for real, taking the taxi was SO not in the books so i had to use public transports (aka jeepneys), which means going to specific (or almost specific) places where the jeeps traveling the routes will pass by. it was a really hot afternoon, and i had to walk for a bit. in doing so i passed by the Cebu Cathedral, and i thought it was a perfect opportunity to take a couple of pix of the old church.
it's a bit of a clash, the rain clouds and the bright sun. i didn't notice the that there were rain clouds until i inadvertently looked up when framing the bell tower for a shot. i think the bell tower shot is kind of dramatic, dont'cha think? quite classic...
well, i have to go and attend my nihongo class. ciao!
