on new languages and old churches...

last monday evening i started classes for basic nihongo with Ross, eJrome and Tessa. no kana & kanji yet, just conversational japanese so we're still using romaji. our sensei is Kato-san, "pure Japanese" as Ross described him...hehe

so what made us do this "learn Japanese" thingy? me thinks i started the whole ball rolling. i think i mentioned to Ross i wanted to learn Japanese so i can understand my animés without subtitles (what a lofty ideal!). she said she always wanted to learn Japanese and Korean and enhance her Mandarin. besides, to make the idea more "credible", the additional language proficiency will look good on our resumés o_0... and since this is basically a "buddy" system, in due time word spread and eJrome & Tessa (animé buffs, too got caught up in it, too.

earlier that afternoon, i decided to use my 1-hour break to go to the bank and deposit money for my mom. since i was cost-cutting for real, taking the taxi was SO not in the books so i had to use public transports (aka jeepneys), which means going to specific (or almost specific) places where the jeeps traveling the routes will pass by. it was a really hot afternoon, and i had to walk for a bit. in doing so i passed by the Cebu Cathedral, and i thought it was a perfect opportunity to take a couple of pix of the old church.

it's a bit of a clash, the rain clouds and the bright sun. i didn't notice the that there were rain clouds until i inadvertently looked up when framing the bell tower for a shot. i think the bell tower shot is kind of dramatic, dont'cha think? quite classic...

well, i have to go and attend my nihongo class. ciao!

after 40 thousand years!!!

I'M BACK!...with a vengeance!!! eheheh =D

well, anywayz i wanted to post a lot of stuff from before but for lack of opportunity and access, i didn't get to. nothing important, just glimpses of my boring life.

sooo, to do a recap, this is about me in my rented room. to the right is a shot of tEddy and me on the side. tEddy was given to me 2 years ago as a goodbye present by my Nestlé IceCream 'diser... she's a bit older than me, and a nice person. and i am definitely NOT a nice gurrl since i forgot her name...ehehe XD oh, and tEddy was christened "tEddy" roughly a year ago by Rigel. me being me neglected to name the scruffy lil guy... ahahaha =P

this is another shot of tEddy and me, a part of my face a bit clearer, if you can call it that. watching a movie on the T5.

Now this is a shot of the T5. i was watching a movie on it using TCPMP, a totally cool PalmOS software (free plug!!!).

i just decided to take a pic of it for lack of something better to do. well, mebbe i just wanna show off one of the cool things a mobile device can do...hehe.

here are some pix of the lil advice book i gave to aneth-chan as a farewell present, all wrapped up and ready to go:

the light is focused on the presento in the first pic... an attempt on creating drama but quite amateurish, though.

the second pic has more (better?) lighting. the light is still centered on the presento but i guess it has diffused a bit.

the T5, Sony headphones, tEddy and wallet on the background, not to mention the pillows...eheheh

a couple of scenes i see when walking on the way to Panagdait road:

a shot of the lil street i walk almost everyday to get to jeepney stop so i can ride and reach Synergis. the condo behind CastlePeak Hotel in the background. it's a mostly affluent neighborhood me thinks coz most of the houses i pass by are large and nice. there are also some pricey apartment type houses.

and this is the first Peugeot i saw live and in real-time...so i had to go take a pic of it to commemorate the event... hahaha XD i feel really cheesy. it's parked outside one of the pricey apartments, most days. it has a sun-roof, btw. not an eye-candy kind of car but it has a certain cute appeal to it. or mebbe it's just the fact that it's a classic european car and it's rare to see these vehicles in cebu... makes me think of Français and gay Paris.

whoah, this is quite a long post. and
Way Back Into Love (Hugh Grant/Drew Barrymore version) is my last song syndrome. it's looping in my head like crazy. ciao!
